Louise Trotter is a photographer and writer based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Her work centres on Twice Around the World — an international expedition retracing the 1899–1901 bicycle circumnavigation of fellow Nova Scotian Karl Creelman, registered with the Royal Geographical Society. The journey spans five continents and 125 years, moving between archive and road, correspondence and camera.
She has been commissioned to write Karl Creelman's entry for the Dictionary of Canadian Biography. Her photography and writing have been featured in Saltwire, The Coast, CTV Atlantic, Here and There Magazine, and Travel Tales by Afar, and she has presented at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, the Colchester Historeum, and the Canadian Industrial Heritage Centre.
Her solo exhibition Thresholds — six large-format photographs paired with original audio narratives — runs August 7 to September 1, 2026 at The Fraser Gallery, Tatamagouche. Opening reception Friday, August 7 at 7:00 pm.
